Planview Redefines Traditional PPM: Introduces New Strategic Planning Capabilities in Planview Enterprise 12
Latest release drives category forward and advances user experience in partnership with inner circle customer community
AUSTIN, Texas – June 6, 2016
Planview continues to deliver on its commitment to helping organizations integrate strategy and execution with the latest version of its leading resource and portfolio management solution, Planview Enterprise 12. The new release delivers native strategic planning capabilities for organizations needing to drive growth and innovation, execute digital transformations and improve program management. Planview Enterprise 12 also continues to leverage the industry’s largest joint-development customer community to advance the user experience and improve adoption of PPM across the enterprise.
Category Innovation: Integrated Strategic Planning in PPM
Today’s enterprise organizations face more disruptive forces than ever. The ability to build a strategic plan that is connected through to execution is imperative, along with ensuring resources are working on the highest priorities to deliver the outcomes that realize the corporate strategy.
“PPM tools have traditionally provided the ability to align work and projects to the strategies defined by someone else in the organization. With Planview Enteprise 12, strategic planning is no longer just about alignment, it’s about building strategic plans that drive execution throughout the organization, securing the capacity to execute on the plan and ultimately bringing an organization’s strategy to life.” said Patrick Tickle, chief product officer, Planview.
Planview Enterprise 12 delivers integrated strategic planning capabilities, including expanded program management, strategic roadmapping, and outcome-driven portfolios. The new capabilities support three core strategic planning scenarios:
- PMOs managing programs, from department-specific to programs spanning the enterprise
- IT and business leaders driving digital transformation initiatives
- Lines of business fueling innovation and growth that drives their top line revenue
“Focusing on strategies that best serve customers requires transparency into new demand and the ability to assess performance of current initiatives. Integrating strategic planning with execution practices moves an organization beyond disconnected and dysfunctional activities to a continuous cycle,” The Agile Planning Ecosystem Takes Center Stage Landscape, by Margo Visitacion and Gordon Barnett, Forrester Research, May 12, 2016.
Commitment to the Best User Experience in PPM
With Planview Enterprise 12, Planview continues to deliver on its commitment to providing the best portfolio and resource management user experience to its customers. Through the innovative ribbon and tiles introduced with Planview Enterprise 11, portfolios, analytics, and reporting are embedded right where users – from novices to experts, from business managers to PMOs – need them.
The new release features an updated, modern, flat interface design throughout the product and redesign of two of the most popular pages in the product – the timesheet and financial planning. These enhancements mark the milestone of a comprehensive three year user experience redesign brought about in cooperation with more than 250 customers that have devoted thousands of hours of collaboration and more than 500 hours of usability testing and feedback.
Inner Circle Community at the Core of Planview’s Product Leadership
The new release is a result of extensive customer involvement in the development process, through the company’s Inner Circle customer community. The Inner Circle brings together PMOs, as well as product development and business leaders, from many of the world’s foremost organizations. Sharing real use cases, the community helps define priorities and provide constant feedback during the product development process.
“Close collaboration with our customers has long been a core part of how we bring products to market,” Tickle said. “This partnership with our customer community ensures that we are delivering the highest value feature set to the market, enabling customers to derive the most business value from our solutions.”
